From Childhood I had an eager to see how a potter made a Lakkhi or Durga idol by binding straw, preparing clay and putting different colours on it step by step. In my village of erstwhile East Bengal and afterwards West Bengal when water was about to dry in the ponds or rivers, small earth boundaries had to arrange for storing water for fishing or agriculture. An wonderful combination of water, green clay and water-hyacinth (Kachuripana) attracted me. My habit of sketching, making it a shape with some colours like sap green, raw umber, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, titanium white with whirled brush stroke is still a playful interest  &  search with me.
