It is my great pleasure that I have got such an opportunity to express my views on the impressionistic paintings (oil on canvas) painted by Dr.Ishita Purkayastha Biswas. She was born and brought up at Ranaghat, 80 km away from Kolkata. Her painting journey has been for twenty years and she now stands at a noticeable position.
Although she has deep interest in painting since childhood, she could not take format education due to social circumstances. But this only made her more passionate for Art.
She is comfortable in both oil and water colours. She has created her own style. The paintings are not only about what is seen, but what she feels with her creative mind. So it has a makeable importance. And the position she has attained is no less than that of any formally trained artist.
