Using an innate sense of color and design, I create paintings that have been called jewels full of life, light, and dancing color........”

For most of my life, painting has been my passion. My artistic passion began at a very young age as I observed my father create cartoons and doodles for a local newspaper. He was my first Guru. At the same time, the exquisite portraits of the master artist Raja Ravi Verma have also had deep impact on my vision. This early enthusiasm has now become the driving force, which makes me create through my artworks.

Much of my inspiration comes from nature, my surroundings, people and music. The landscapes of Rajasthan have captivated me for the longest. I am inspired by the vastness of the desert, its colour, the architecture and the culture of its people. I love to paint its palaces, havelis and pillars which are getting eroded by the passage of time. I also love to paint the human figures; women, deep in thoughts or busy in daily chores, men and children in their traditional attires, etc. Expressing human feelings, through Portraits allows me to dive deeper in my own individual self and my surroundings.

I like to work on compositions, experiment with different textures, mediums and techniques, with the aim of making them illusive for a poetical look. I use a play of lights and shadows to bring out perspicuity, to add depth to my paintings. In my paintings, you can see the influence of the music in the flow of my brushwork and the influence of my environment in the palettes and compositions.
