“THE ZEAL” solo exhibition

“THE ZEAL” solo exhibition

Deepa Kulkarni has worked extensively in both acrylic paints and acrylic inks. Her signature style is rooted in abstract art, yet her paintings consistently exude a sense of joy, serenity, and uplifting beauty. Even when a piece is rendered predominantly in black, it captivates the viewer, inviting prolonged contemplation. This is largely due to the artist’s masterful use of color harmony, which Deepa Kulkarni achieves with remarkable precision.

Her first solo exhibition was held in 2022 at the prestigious Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery. Since then, her work has been showcased in various cities including Jaipur, Bangalore, and at the Nehru Centre in Mumbai. Notably, her paintings have been exhibited twice in New York. The renowned Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York displayed five of her artworks for an entire year.
Working in mediums such as acrylic paint and alcohol ink, Kulkarni explores a range of visual expressions. Her creations in acrylic ink, too, reflect a distinct and innovative aesthetic.
The inaugural solo exhibition was graced by the presence of dignitaries such as Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar, and noted artists Suhas Bahulkar and Prakash Bal Joshi — all of whom praised her work with great admiration.
