My practice explores the quiet dialogue between natural decay, regeneration, and the nocturnal landscape. Working primarily with deep, shadowed palettes and tactile surfaces, I investigate organic forms dry foliage, ancient rock strata, tangled vegetation, and skeletal fronds as repositories of time and memory. Rather than rendering nature through literal representation, I construct atmospheric spaces where light and form emerge from darkness. Rich, earthy pigments, oxidized tones, and raw textures are punctuated by deliberate interventions of piercing blues, luminous ochres, and visceral crimsons. Through layering, scraping, impasto, and surface manipulation, each canvas captures the tension between structural resilience and fragile decomposition. These works serve as meditative environments that reflect on the cyclical rhythms of the earth. By isolating fragments of the natural world in deep obscurity, I aim to evoke a primal, subterranean quietude that invites viewers to contemplate the subtle beauty, endurance, and mystery inherent in the shadows of the living world.
