Lynn Hilloowala is a self-taught artist and studied the business of art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London where she earned her master’s degree. After years of working in the art market as a contemporary art specialist for auction houses in Mumbai and London, she has recently returned to her first love – painting.
The Memory of Water consists of paintings she has worked over the last two years. Lynn's canvases are colour fields suggestive of labyrinths, reflections and tapestries. Elements merge with a mysterious logic, they are half remembered dreams, evocative of the transience of civilisation. Shifting skylines are reminiscent of buried histories and changing times.
