Ra means “ to  give” and Sa means “ motion”. Rasa means to make all over, to flow. It is the prime and finest part of any “ bhava”. That is “rasa”. The milk of cow is called “ Go – rasa”. It’s the juice of any particular bhava .

The Nine rasa’s are the essential energies that define a set of emotions and mood. Knowing the nava rasa , helps us to understand why a certain mood comes and stays even though its original cause may be long gone and how to use that knowledge in achieving more emotional control. To know this rasa yoga, one should know what rasas are and how each rasa functions. There are mainly nine rasa in which some rasa develops more intensely and so each rasas has its own value in human life.

Nine main rasas  :

1.   Srungaram

2.   Hasyam

3.   Raudram

4.   Veeram

5.   Karunyam

6.   Bibhatsam

7.   Bhayanakam

8.   Adbhutam

9.   Santam

Here, I have tried to show all navrasa by taking Lord Krishna as a nayak.

In scriptures, we get knowledge of all navrasa, but I personally feels there are other rasa’s also which develops from this main navrasa like in santa rasa, when it develops to a certain extend, then it goes to the bhava of “dasya” rasa.

The “dasya rasa”s bhava progresses to “sakhaya” rasa.

Sakhaya rasa goes further to “vatsalya” rasa

and extreme bhava of “vatsalya” rasa, it is “madhurya” rasa. Here, in “madhurya” rasa everything completes.

Heart becomes purna shanta.

Then there are no more desire.

Krishna in nava rasa , I have tried to portray all this beautiful rasa and emotions with oil and other mix media on canvas. To paint lord Krishna in all nav rasa, was en beautiful journey which is still on………..
