1. The story of Traditional Indian  Art: Each style of painting that emerged in India represented traditions, customs, and ideologies passed down from earlier generations. Early paintings existed on walls or as murals decorating their abodes and brightening their homes. Only later, did the artisans transfer their craft to fabric, paper of several kinds,  palm leaves and still continued with dung/clay clad walls.

The story continues through our shows…Tribal and Folk Art of India by Art for Concern is a show conceptualized and put together  with a collection of indigenous  art forms  like  Gond, Bhil, Kalighat, Miniature and many more.  The art which takes inspiration from the myths and daily life  is being contemporized by master artisans and a new generation of artisans .  Tribal and Folk Art of India promises to bring to the fore the stories and anecdotes of various tribal communities and their typical practices.  Some of the art forms will be Gond, Bhil, Pichwai, Phad, Mata-ni-Pachedi to name a few.

In an evening with maybe the sonorous music of the flute and painting your personal pot with tribal motifs, the event will be an experience offering the audience information and the opportunity to own a piece of the story!  The evening celebrating the truly Indian art forms will be one to remember.

A New  Take  on the Old Art Forms: Collaborating with this event will enable an evening that offers access to a collection of works that represent culture, style and authenticity.  Add to this the access to information and knowledge about the works available; inspiration that will make the experience immersive and informative.  A partnership with Art for Concern represents a connection with tradition, culture, authenticity and social awareness

Art for Concern was initiated by Concern India Foundation in 1998 to promote Indian Art and create a platform for upcoming artists to showcase their work.  It is a fundraiser that raises funds for the projects supported by Concern India Foundation in education, community development, health and hygiene.
