The idea of a group show could perhaps arise out of a medley of reasons, besides the primary motive of economics and logistics of mounting a show comprising a body of work, and the other reasons could be that a group of artist are bound by a common ideology or share a vision are endeavoring to explore a given brief as part of a curatorial exercise.
When a group of artists some who are explore unfamiliar with each other or each other's work come together on a common platform to show their work, it can perhaps lead to new encounters. In this show titled "Experience Art" we have such a scenario where seven painters and two sculptors from different parts of the country are exhibiting together a body of work which at first glance seems to be totally unconnected.
While some explore the idea of landscape, others use a variety of languages ranging from the folk idiom to photorealism to abstract renderings of colour. But if we assume a language to be a means of articulation of ideas and concepts, we begin to glean, that all there artists are perhaps figuring out a means to articulate and position themselves in relation to not only their surroundings but also perhaps raise issues and concerns which move them, and become part of their pictorial language.
